Via Ferrata week in the Tre Cime area
Description
They are well known throughout the world, these three shining stars situated in the Sesto Dolomites and they will accompany us throughout the whole week. The Tre Cime are visible from everywhere, and are characteristic of the magnificent Dolomites scenery.
One hundred years ago the group of the Sesto Dolomites was severely under dispute during the ruthless war between Austria and Italy and still to this day many military emplacements and trenches are witness to the folly of the First World War.
Now, instead of finding frontlines you will find splendid vie ferrate of varying difficulties and old tunnels which have been renovated for safe access.
You can expect a truly interesting week both historically and alpinistically.
Detailed programme
| Sun: | From Misurina, ascent to and overnight stay at the Col de Varda hut |
| Mon: | Ferrata Bonacossa; overnight stay at Lavaredo hut |
| Tue: | Tour around the Tre Cime, crossing over to Torre di Toblin, overnight stay at Tre Cime hut |
| Wed: | Monte Paterno crossing, overnight stay at Comici hut |
| Thu: | Ferrata degli Alpini, descent, overnight stay at Prati di Croda Rossa hut |
| Fri: | Croda Rossa di Sesto, return to Sesto and back to Misurina by bus or taxi |

| Requirements | Absence of vertigo, good physical shape and prior experience on vie ferrate |
